ARK: Survival Evolved’s Aberration Gets Really Bizarre

ARK: Survival Evolved’s Aberration Gets Really Bizarre

ARK: Survival Evolved has previously released one DLC since launch, but the second one has gone live today. Aberration will be bringing players to an underground area that contains an Ark that hasn’t stood the test of time very well. The malfunctioning ark houses creatures like the Rock Drake, Cave Crustacean, Lantern Pet, Nameless, and Reapers. Reapers are possibly most bizarre, namely because of their Queen.

The Reaper Queen will impregnate enemies around you to spawn even more reapers. There is apparently an option somehow thought to let the Reaper Queen do the duty with you. If you allow her, you’ll then spawn a Reaper that you can tame and control. It sounds odd, but I suppose the DLC is called Aberration right? What’s more abhorrent than a monster born of a human, right?

Aberration will also give players access to equipment like hazmat outfits, railguns, rock picks, and glowsticks. Special base building items include gas collectors, fishing baskets, and cliff structures. There are also all kinds of things that are specific to the underground biome that the malfunctioning Ark is located in. These include earthquakes, ziplines, wingsuits, climbing gear, and radioactive sunlight.

All in all, it sounds like Aberration is set up to be a pretty wild ride for anyone brave enough to give it a try. You can buy it for your copy of ARK for $20. Or you can pick up a Season Pass, which will include Aberration. Those who already hold an ARK: Survival Evolved Season Pass can download Aberration starting today on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
