Bungie Addresses Locked Content Controversy in Destiny 2

Bungie Addresses Locked Content Controversy in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 found itself a little hotbed of controversy after the Curse of Osiris expansion launched, due to the fact it locked players out of previously-available endgame content. This was because of the level cap extension of course, but it’s a bad look nevertheless. Bungie acknowledged as much and plans to make adjustments to make things a little more fair for everyone.

Bungie acquiesced, stating its intention or the reason the content was locked (again, level cap) but acknowledging the issue fans had, particularly in that the locked content also prevented players from earning certain trophies without purchasing Curse of Osiris .

In the next Destiny 2 patch, Bungie will start to address the issues. While the Prestige Nightfall will remain tied to the new level cap, Bungie will revise the trophy to still be obtainable without it. Bungie is also dropping the Prestige raid’s requirement back down to level 300. Finally, Bungie will look into adding a new difficulty level to Prestige content, so things like this can be avoided in the future.
