Fortnite Battle Royale is still pretty popular going into the new year. Being free-to-play certainly isn’t hurting it, and neither are the free updates for players. The first update for Fortnite ‘s Battle Royale this year introduces a new weapon and mode.
Those interested only in whatever new loot is coming their way will be happy to learn about the Silenced Pistol. It’s exactly like it sounds: a pistol with a silencer. (Imagine that!) This weapon will be available through floor loot, supply drops, and treasure chests. It also will have Epic and Legendary versions.
This new weapon is a catalyst for a new Fortnite game mode called Sneaky Silencers. This will be new to players starting on January 5, 2018 and will only be available until January 8, 2018. The entire point of Sneaky Silencers is to get Fortnite players to use different strategies than before. In this mode, you won’t be able to set traps, you’ll only be able to use Suppressed SMGs and Pistols, and you’re going to be much more likely to find a Bush disguise.
The reveal of the Sneaky Silencers mode and Silenced Pistol is made even more momentous by the fact that Fortnite players will not have to update to enjoy it. Sneaky Silencers will be available without pause to players new and old on January 5. Will you be giving it a try?
