P.T. Remake Prototypes Released and Playable

P.T. Remake Prototypes Released and Playable

P.T. is one of modern gaming’s biggest tragedies in terms of historical preservation. This game, or “interactive trailer,” for the now-dead Silent Hills project was a sensation, and now you can’t even re-download it from the PlayStation Network. While P.T. is on YouTube, the experience of playing it for the first time is lost forever. But some fans have taken it upon themselves to fix that they only way they can – remaking it.

Last year, a creator named SmoggyChips emerged with a new project to remake P.T. with Unreal Engine 4. Now, SmoggyChips has proven their mettle by releasing a playable prototype this month. Called Corridors , the project is an “early access” WIP SmoggyChips plans to continue working on and adding to. Currently, hosted on GameJolt, Corridors is sitting at over 22,000 views and 8,000 downloads.

While this is an impressive milestone, SmoggyChips is not the only person working on bringing P.T. back to life. A creator named LinusPixel developed a script that actually rips assets from P.T. itself and is using those to build their own remake, and is even doing some dev work to improve some things. This also has a playable prototype available.
