Ubisoft Announces Sam Assistant

Ubisoft Announces Sam Assistant

Ubisoft has announced a new feature for its Ubisoft Club mobile app, which talks to you and acts as a “personal gaming assistance. It’s called Sam, and it appears to be a service inspired by the likes of Amazon Alexa, Siri, and Google Home.

Through text or voice, gamers can interact with Sam and get answers to questions about the Ubisoft games in their library. Sam can answer questions about in-game weather, provide information on release dates, play trailers, recap story progress, or even offer help in some form. These are all examples provided so far in Ubisoft’s initial announcement.

Sam can, however, get more in-depth with providing payers information about their games. Sam can track play stats, recommend challenges and even scour YouTube for help videos. Ubisoft says the plan is for Sam to eventually analyze a player’s playstyle and recommend progression choices, such as skill upgrades.

Sam is launching today, in the form of a beta test for Canadian users. The feature will expand to other countries in the near futures.
