Ubisoft Adjusts Rainbow Six Siege Year Three Rollout

Ubisoft Adjusts Rainbow Six Siege Year Three Rollout

Last week, Ubisoft shook up things for Rainbow Six Siege , including changing the retail SKUs a bit in preparation for the year three content/pass and the Outbreak event. The Rainbow Six Siege fanbase was not happy about this change, as it ultimately added premium loot boxes to the game and upped the barrier of entry to the console version by about $20. Ubisoft has responded to those issues, or at least some of them.

First, Ubisoft announced that anyone who logs into an online match before March 6, 2018 will automatically earn the Ask Sidewinder Elite skin for free. As soon as the year three content kicks into gear, the item will appear in players’ inventories. Second, the “Advanced Edition” replacing the “Standard Edition” at retail will no longer be $60, instead launching at the $40 the Standard Edition was.

GameSpot reports that Ubisoft hasn’t, however, commented on how these players will get a hold of Operators. Ubisoft has said that more details will be released during the Six Invitational event which starts in February.
