Rumor: Vicarious Visions Developing Spyro Collection

Rumor: Vicarious Visions Developing Spyro Collection

Reported by Kotaku by way of multiple alleged sources, Activision is apparently following up the massive success of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy with a similar collection of the original Spyro the Dragon trilogy. It will supposedly be announced in March 2018 and be targeted for a Q3 2018 release.

The remaster/remake set will, like N. Sane Trilogy , include new assets, lighting, animations, cutscenes, music, and more. The save system will be redone as well, to bring it up to modern standards. The games included in the set are Spyro the Dragon , Ripto’s Rage , and Year of the Dragon . Much like the DLC level added to N. Sane Trilogy post-release, content that didn’t make it to the original games may be restored/rebuilt here.

Another notable detail is that while the Spyro collection will ultimately be multiplatform. It will start as a PlayStation 4 timed exclusive until 2019. This apparently is a similar deal to Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy , so ports of that may be cropping up sometime this year as well.
