Payday 2 for Nintendo Switch May Be a Year Behind

The Reddit and ResetEra forums have been up in flames lately over a possible revelation regarding Payday 2 on the Nintendo Switch. As it turns out, the updates for this console version may be at least a year behind the PC edition. The collaborative conclusion is that the Switch version of Payday 2 is below update 130. Meanwhile, the PC version is at update 172.

To put the situation even further into perspective, update 131 included the John Wick Heists. This released on February 9, 2017. Besides the missing John Wick Heists, the Nintendo Switch version of Payday 2 may be also missing Crime Spree and AI Henchmen. There are also nine heists, two grenades, eight melee weapons, 16 guns, three perk decks, four characters, and at least 50 masks that haven’t been added. These are the possible major missing links in the Nintendo Switch version of Payday 2 , but of course there are also optimizations and bug fixes (including the desync update) that are also not added.

All of this information has been gathered by industrious Reddit and ResetEra users. They have also shared around a tweet from September, 2014 between a Payday 2 player and a developer. The person in question responded to a tweet stating that Payday 2 was broken on consoles with, “if a game I really love isn’t working on consoles, Id switch to other platforms and f*cking play it there.” Needless to say, ResetEra users were happy to add that the developer had since been fired. It still certainly doesn’t help the Payday 2 developer’s image at this moment in time.

If you were looking forward to Payday 2 on the Nintendo Switch, you might want to wait a bit longer before you play it and see reports from those playing it at launch.
