Super Mario Odyssey’s first post-release update has launched, adding the new features as advertised in Nintendo’s most recent Nintendo Direct presentation. The new update adds some new filters to Snapshot Mode, but more importantly adds the new multiplayer mode, Balloon World.
To access Balloon Mode, you’ll have to finish the main story first. Then you’ll be able to find Luigi in each Kingdom. From there, you’ll be able to choose between Hide It or Find It mode. Hide It sees the player hiding balloons around the levels for other players to find, while Find It is the opposite. Depending on how well you do, you’ll climb the online rankings. Also, the weather in each Kingdom can change while playing Balloon World mode, in ways you wouldn’t see during normal play.
In addition to the two new Coin and Neon Snapshot Mode filters, new outfits have also been added to the store. After beating the main story, the new outfits, including Sunshine, Musician, and Knight Armor, will become available for purchase.
