One of the biggest drama spikes of the past week or so was Blizzard teasing its rabid fanbase on social media with a silly video of a Diablo light switch . When the obvious Nintendo Switch yelling happened, Blizzard released a statement saying that the intent was to just do a fun thing, and not announce anything. Now Eurogamer, often an outlet reporting rumor content in good faith and with multiple sources, is claiming that the game actually is coming to Switch.
This of course is the least surprising plot twist, as the original Twitter post has “this is extremely deliberate” written all over it. Eurogamer’s sources have confirmed only that Diablo III is definitely coming to Switch in the coming months, although there’s no confirmation what the content would be, specifically whether or not the Switch version includes Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer . Why they wouldn’t is a mystery, but Switch fans have their guard up after the whole Payday 2 ordeal.
Another interesting tidbit is that Eurogamer’s sources expressed surprise at the tease, as the game is still “several months” away and Nintendo has typically held off on third-party announcements until closer to release. The implication here could be that perhaps the tease was a bit too on the nose and Blizzard needs to play innocent until a later date.
