ARK: Survival Evolved Makes Dinosaurs Mobile

ARK: Survival Evolved Makes Dinosaurs Mobile

ARK: Survival Evolved developers Studio Wildcard came out with some surprising news today. Their popular multiplayer dino-taming game will be releasing on iOS and Android systems. ARK: Survival Evolved mobile will be releasing sometime later this spring. A limited closed beta will be happening for iOS users much sooner however.

Supposedly, ARK: Survival Evolved on iOS and Android devices will have everything that the PC, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4 version has, just on a smaller screen and in a free-to-play form. This version has been developed by War Drum Studios ( Bully , Grand Theft Auto , Auralux ) and includes the options to play either on your own or with up to 50 other players. A Tribe system will encourage you to work together with many other players, but you of course do not have to. You can take on the world all on your own, or team up with a Tribe and take down all the other players. It’s completely up to you.

The mobile version of ARK: Survival Evolved will also have 80+ dinosaurs that you can kill, tame, train, ride, or breed. These will include Pterodactyls, Brontosaurus, and T-Rex, among many others. To battle against these beasts, you’ll have to craft weapons, clothes, items, and other gear. Buildings will also be crucial to survival, whether you are on your own or with a tribe. Shelters function as the lowest form of building that can be crafted, with villages, and even large cities also possible.

If you’re interested in being a part of the beta test on an iOS device, you can sign up over at PlayARK.com . A short form has to be filled out, but then you’ll be emailed if you’re selected. Those that simply wish to be kept up to date on when ARK: Survival Evolved will release in the Apple App Store, or the Google Play Store can sign up for a mailing list. There will apparently be some special rewards for those who do.
