PUBG Mobile Players Have Discovered Bots

PUBG Mobile Players Have Discovered Bots

The original PC and Xbox One versions of PUBG don’t have bots; these games are purely about player-versus-player (and environment to an extent) combat. This is part of the appeal of the game, as there is the allure of the Chicken Dinner and how intensely challenging it can be to earn one. But, as players have discovered, the recently released mobile version of PUBG seems to have some AI presence alleviating that challenge, at least early on.

Here’s what’s happening: an alarming number of PUBG Mobile players are earning that precious, precious Chicken Dinner with a fraction of the expected effort. These wins are happening left and right, meanwhile the same players are having the usual uphill climb when playing Fortnite . Clearly there has to be an explanation, as other than some mobile-friendly shortcuts, PUBG plays largely the same on mobile.

But! Something is off about the PUBG Mobile population. A lot of players are noticing a ton of red-clothed characters running around and being pretty bad at the game. While not advertised at all, the running theory is that these are, in fact, bots – AI players that are in place to help boost player confidence early on. Players have noticed that as they climb the ranks, the number of these red bot suspects quickly dwindles.
