Dragon Quest XI Release Date and Platforms Announced

Dragon Quest XI Release Date and Platforms Announced

This morning was a great time for Dragon Quest fans. While we knew the latest core entry in the series, Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age , was confirmed to be western-bound, we now have a release date, and available platforms. Dragon Quest XI will launch on September 8, 2018, for the PlayStation 4 and PC.

The official Dragon Quest YouTube channel dropped a small montage of localized game footage, as well as the game’s official opening. Dragon Quest XI producer Hokuto Okamoto also contributed a PlayStation Blog post, in which he showed some localization differences (for example, a very different style for the in-game menus), as well as announcing that pre-orders are now live, and pre-ordering digitally via the PSN nets customers a new theme.

Elsewhere, Square Enix also confirmed that in addition to the menu differences, the localized version will also include a new hard mode, a first-person view, and a faster dash. The company also stated that the 3DS version will not be localized, and that while the Switch version is intended to come to Europe and North America, it is still very much in development.
