PlayStation VR to See Another Price Cut

PlayStation VR to See Another Price Cut

For the second time now, Sony is dropping the price on the PlayStation VR headset. Tomorrow, March 29, both the base hardware and all related bundles will be slashed by upwards of $100.

Right now, the base PlayStation VR set is $349. It’s going down to $299, and seems to be the smallest discount here. Meanwhile, a bundle that contains the set, a camera, a demo disc and even DOOM VFR will also be brought down to $299, a much more significant deal.

Perhaps most enticingly, the bundle that comes with Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim VR along with two elusive PlayStation Move controllers is dropping down to $349. It’s worth noting that earlier in the year, these price points were in place as temporary sales. Now, these are ostensibly permanent (until the next drop, maybe).

This is yet another step in Sony’s favor, as the PlayStation VR was already the most affordable VR option. Continuing to undercut the competition while simultaneously quietly iterating on the thing’s design is really making these bundles look good. Software also continues to come in, such as the well-received Moss .
