The morning of April 5, 2018 started with yet another Spyro leak, this time with various international Amazon listings spilling the whole can of beans. Order of operations is important, folks! Shortly after that, official word came and confirmed everything, along with a new trailer and official website launch. So yes, Spyro is back, and Spyro: Reignited Trilogy is coming on September 21 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Spyro: Reignited Trilogy comprises the original three games in the series: Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon . While the games are being marketed as “remastered,” the package is of course comparable to Activision’s Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy in that the games follow the same structure of the originals, but the visuals are completely overhauled.
While Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was developed by Vicarious Visions, Spyro: Reignited Trilogy is being developed by Toys for Bob, the original developer of the Skylanders series (although Vicarious Visions also worked on Skylanders at times).
