Pokemon Switch May Introduce Generation 8 Creatures

Pokemon Switch May Introduce Generation 8 Creatures

Concrete news regarding the Switch Pokemon game has been pretty few and far between since its announcement. A Twitter post showing images from a Spanish version of the Official Nintendo Magazine seems to reveal something new. A small column offers three different pieces of information. Keep in mind that the Official Nintendo Magazine has gotten things wrong before. We can hope though, right?

First off, the Official Nintendo Magazine claimed that the Switch version of Pokemon will not release until 2018 or later. That we already knew. But what comes next is surprising, as apparently Pokemon on Switch will have some brand new mechanics to explore. This could range from anything like the smaller mini-games, like training your pocket monster friends, or making them PokeBlocks, all the way up to a different gameplay style entirely. Many are still hopeful for an open world Pokemon game.

The final news revealing in the Official Nintendo Magazine is that the Pokemon game we will be seeing on the Nintendo Switch will have a brand new generation of creatures. That would make this the eighth generation of Pokemon since the franchise’s creation. We can only guess at this moment in time what these new monsters will look like.

Keep your eyes on Nintendo and The Pokemon Company as we continue through 2018 for more official information on the Switch Pokemon game.
