Castlevania Mobile Game Announced

Castlevania Mobile Game Announced

It was looking grim for a while, but Castlevania is back! And it’s not pachinko game! It’s a mobile game though, so we’re not out of hot water yet. Konami has announced Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls , which appears to be a multiplayer-based action game that can be both cooperative or competitive, featuring a roster of characters throughout Castlevania history.

The characters range from classics such as Simon Belmont and Alucard, to much more recent characters such as Shanoa and Genya Arikado (who is just Alucard in a suit, but still). While multiplayer Castlevania isn’t necessarily a new concept, what is new is a bunch of character art from series veteran Ayami Kojima, which includes characters she hasn’t done official art for in the past.

Further details, such as whether or not we’ll be seeing this game in the US, are scarce, but it’s nice to see the IP back in the public eye after a long silence following the Lords of Shadow series fizzling out of favor. It’s hard to see a game like this ultimately distracting fans from Bloodstained , but we’ll see if this leads anywhere else for the classic series.
