Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Breaks Nintendo Promise

Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Breaks Nintendo Promise

They said it could never be done! Nintendo might have taken a staunchly anti- Night Trap approach back in the day, but it’s a new dawn, and a new day. Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Edition will be releasing on Nintendo Switch sometime this summer.

The announcement came via publisher Limited Run Games on Twitter today, where they stated, “Never say never!” Night Trap’s 25th Anniversary Edition on the Nintendo Switch will be releasing with a physical version and a digital one. The artwork for the physical box is visible above, but Limited Run Games reminds that it may not be final.

If you’re unfamiliar with the cult classic Night Trap , it’s a full-motion video game that includes over one and half hours of footage. The plot follows a special agent who must protect a gaggle of girls from vampire-like Augers. The game has been the focus of all kinds of controversy over the years, including Nintendo stating the game would never make it to their systems.

Hence the surprise of fans that Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Edition will indeed be releasing on Nintendo Switch.
