Epic Is Messing with Fortnite Fans

Epic Is Messing with Fortnite Fans

For a month now, Fortnite fans have been freaking out about a mysterious comet that has steadily been coming closer and closer to the game’s map. While it hasn’t hit yet, and nobody from Epic has said what the heck is going on, the more intense members of the fanbase have been speculating the comet will be touching down any time now and has a specific target. The running theory is now that, by the end of the season, the comet will strike Tilted Towers and do… something.

Fortnite had a big update recently, and Epic threw in a little something to tease the comet fanatics. Now, if you end up on top of the Tilted Towers, you’ll find a whole bunch of junk on the roof. There are signs that a group of conspiracy theorists-slash-comet watchers were camping out. There are random bits of furniture, junk food trash, and even a telescope aimed right at the comet.

There are even a bunch of signs, some showing support of the comet or a love for extraterrestrials, and one that says “today,” but crossed out and replaced with “tomorrow.” This further makes fun of the theorists who were convinced something would happen with the latest patch.

Of course, dataminers have already gone through and presented theories of their own, but for now, Epic is trying to add to the speculative fun.
