Epic Games and Marvel have come together, seemingly out of nowhere, for a crossover event that brings the villain of Avengers: Infinity War to Fortnite: Battle Royale . Also, it starts tomorrow on May 8, 2018.
The event mode is called “Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup,” and it plays the same as a usual battle royale match with one major exception. Now, at some point, the Infinity Gauntlet will appear somewhere on the map. The player fortunate enough to find an equip the gauntlet will straight-up turn into Thanos and have some yet to be revealed interpretation of his powers at their disposal.
In speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the Russo brothers (directors of Avengers: Infinity War ) spoke to being fans of Fortnite and taking breaks from editing the film to play some battle royale matches. This would lead to a conversation with Epic’s creative director Donald Mustard, and the mad science that would see this crossover event come to fruition.
