Mega Man fans rarely get the love they deserve from Capcom, but thanks to various collections, including an upcoming Mega Man X collection, they at least get to satiate their thirst to an extent. The exception to the rule are the couple of modern versions of classic Mega Man games the company has released over the last decade. Mega Man 11 is shaping up to be one of the best entries in that series, and recent details seem to accentuate that hype.
In the new game, Dr. Wily, the series’ antagonist, has remembered some old research and has invented something called gears. In order to defeat Dr. Wily, Dr. Light and Mega Man decide to use the dangerous weapons against their foe. These Double Gears cause a drain on Mega Man and can only be used temporarily, but can do things like slow time, overcharge the Mega Buster, add bonuses to Mega Man’s unique moves, and offer unique solutions to the game’s challenges.
And boy does, Mega Man 11 seem challenging. It seems like its frantic gameplay will require a degree of mastery and practice to conquer. The game will be available October 2, 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC.
