Rocksteady Says Why It Skipped E3 2018

Rocksteady Says Why It Skipped E3 2018

One of the biggest surprises at E3 2018 was actually a major absence, rather than one of the big announcements. Rocksteady, which has been one of the most rumor-centric developers of the road to E3, just wasn’t there at all. There was straight-up radio silence, until June 14, 2018. Sefton Hill, co-founder of the company, released a brief statement on Twitter acknowledging the widespread confusion.

Hill’s statement isn’t revelatory, but it is nice to see the issue given some attention by the company itself. He says the team is aware of the disappointment, and appreciates the passion for the next project. The suggestion then, is that the next project isn’t ready for show. Makes sense, as Rocksteady games are pretty intense.

This whole thing has blown up due to a series of rumors pointing to Rocksteady working on a new Superman game. The rumors were widespread and pretty close to being accepted as fact, with ostensible promotional materials, a subtitle, and other details bouncing around the Internet. The rumors could still be true, but for now, patience is key.
