New Fortnite Patch Lets Players Wield Two Pistols at Once

Fortnite is the game that just won’t stop growing. It seems like every week there is something new coming out for the game, and while PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds might have escalated the battle royale genre last year, Epic’s constant updates puts it leagues beyond its admittedly impressive competition. The newest patch, for example, added a new mode, a new questline, a new weapon, and more.

Most notably, to me, are the dual pistols that were added to battle royale. Basically, they are just two pistols but dual wielding weapons always looks and feels cool. Others might be more interested in the limited time mode, Playground. This mode is a safe place for players to practice their building which is commonly thought to be a fundamental part of a competitive player’s toolkit.

Grenade launchers now cause a celebratory fireworks-esque explosion, map markers are now much more visual since they now emit giant beacons of colorful light, and a new controller layout is meant to facilitate building. It may not seem as flashy as the Infinity Gauntlet mode from a while back but this update looks like it is moving the game forward in a mechanical sense.

The Fortnite patch is playable now and there are already rumors circulating about what the next patch will entail. The fun never ends, does it?
