Xbox One Might Receive Mod Support

Xbox One Might Receive Mod Support

Mods can bring a lot to games and sometimes govern people’s choice in platform. They are especially big in games like Skyrim and Fallout 4, so it was cool to see mod support for both on the Xbox One. But current rumblings are suggesting the Xbox One might be getting mod potential on a console-wide scale.

This is according to documents obtained by Windows Central that were leaked from a presentation. They refer to an Xbox Community Content platform. It might allow developers to incorporate user-generated content for their games, and the rules for this content would be set by the developers for the most part. They can also choose whether or not to monetize.

Windows Central also mentions that a job listing sought applicants to “drive support for Xbox Live game mods.” A curated market of extra content could be a good thing for gaming. So could a landslide of extra free content for players to choose from. It all seems so playful and in the spirit of gaming itself.
