New Patch Mitigates Cheating in Dark Souls Remastered

New Patch Mitigates Cheating in Dark Souls Remastered

Dark Souls was a game that was rife with hackers. Dark Souls Remastered didn’t do much to alleviate the issue. In fact, it looked like people were able to exploit the game in ways gamers had complained about for ages. Users launched giant, area-murdering fireballs that would break a character and practically require a save deletion. Others managed to get rule abiding players banned. It has been a mess. A new patch aims to fix that, though.

In the patch notes of the 1.03 patch, players can find the words “improved the security against cheating during online multiplayer.”  Other glitches and issues with network connectivity are also being worked out.

It is an issue that is better taken care of sooner rather than later. The PC port of Dark Souls bred a culture of griefers, and that could have been part of the reason it became impossible to find legitimate players. It is my hope that the PC players get the game they deserve, because played right, Dark Souls Remastered is an amazing experience.
