Plex VR Gets a Major Update

Plex VR Gets a Major Update

For those who don’t know, Plex VR is a program  for players to view different forms of media within a virtual reality environment. A new update has added quite a bit of functionality to the software.

As of today, Plex VR has the ability to allow users to watch media together cross-platform. The watch together feature also includes voice chat. In a lot of ways, it is reminiscent of the Netflix parties that were available for a while on the Xbox 360 except, you know, it’s in virtual reality. It’s a good way to remotely spend time with a friend or loved one who you aren’t able to physically see all that often. In fact, it basically feels the same as any other movie viewing experiencing, albeit with a touch of VR magic.

Plex VR is compatable with a handful of headsets and now also includes Virtual 5.1 surround sound to further enhance the movie viewing experience. To use Virtual 5.1 surround sound or watch with friends, pick up a Plex Pass.
