Stewart Copeland Composes New Theme for the Spyro Trilogy

Stewart Copeland Composes New Theme for the Spyro Trilogy

Some of the most enduring franchises from gaming’s past contained within them songs that still inspire a sense of nostalgia when fans hear the tunes today, even if they can’t always place what game the melody is from. Spyro is one of those games for me, and I’m just now learning that it might be because Stewart Copeland, from the incredibly catchy band, The Police, worked as the primary composer for the original games. I’ve also just learned that he will be returning to compose the “New Main Theme Music” for the Spyro: Reignited Trilogy . It will be called “Tiger Train.”

Here’s a sample.

Fans can experience new, remastered versions of all the old songs from the original soundtrack as they play through the games in Spyro: Reignited Trilogy. Or, if they’re feeling retro, they can switch over to Copeland’s original soundtrack. It’s as easy as dropping into the options menu at any moment during gameplay.

The game, developed by Toys for Bob of Skylanders fame, is releasing the same year the franchise is celebrating its 20th anniversary. It will be available on September 21, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for $39.99.
