Right now, the Slurp Juice item in Fortnite gives players 100 points in shield and health, split 50/50. But Epic Games is always looking to alter the game’s balance! After a fan dropped a suggestion in the Fortnite subreddit, representatives of Epic confirmed that the fan accidentally stumbled onto a planned change.
The suggestion from the fan was that Slurp Juice, while still sticking to 100 points total, should drop the even distribution part. Instead, they suggested the item should prioritize health, then carry over to boost shields once the player hits full health. This way, the idea is that wasted points are no longer an issue, making the item a bit more useful overall.
“Jshredz” of Epic Games replied with, “Hey, that’s a neat idea,” cheekily confirming the suggestion was already in the works before it was suggested. Then, Epic’s Eric Williamson, Fortnite’ s Design Lead, dropped the nitty gritty. It’s a bit different, in that Slurp Juice will max out at 75 points instead, but it will prioritize HP and boost shields with what is left over. He also said the change is coming with version 5.10, the game’s next patch.
