Nightdive Studios is at it again, bringing back the ultraviolent N64-era video game ports. While the company saw recent success with its Turok releases and continues to work on the whole System Shock reboot thing, the next release might be a little unexpected. Microsoft’s Major Nelson announced that Forsaken Remastered is set to arrive on Xbox One soon and is already available for preorder.
Looking at Forsaken Remastered ’s Xbox Store page, the game is releasing on July 31, 2018 and costs $19.99. Not bad for something more clearly branded as a “remaster,” compared to some of Nightdive’s other products. As the description reads, Forsaken was released in 1998 and is a sort of cyberpunk vehicle combat game. Combat is 360 degrees, and while it had a single player component, the original game was all about the multiplayer.
Forsaken is also notable for being ripped off by Superman 64 , which had a multiplayer mode nobody talks about despite “ Forsaken but with Superman” being way more funny than the flying through rings thing.
