Quantic Dream Loses One of Several Court Cases

Quantic Dream Loses One of Several Court Cases

The story of Quantic Dreams and allegations against the company for a variety of unsavory work environment practices continues, with one of many court cases coming to an initial end. This early case has been ruled against Quantic Dream, with an employee’s voluntary exit now legally changed to involuntary amid harassment claims.

The news comes from Twitter, translated from French to English by a Restera user. It’s tough to translate legal language by itself, let along through the filter of different languages, but the long and short of it appears to be that one of the employees who left the company after an incident of Photoshop-fueled harassment has been able to change their exit to involuntary. This makes them eligible for relevant benefits. However, Quantic Dream can still appeal this ruling.

Quantic Dream is involved in other pending court cases. Two other employees filed for the same change in employment. Both of them were dismissed, with one filing an appeal. Another is an issue in labor court against the company, which is still in the process of finding a verdict. Yet another appears to be a “tiebreak situation,” which is unclear.

Finally, Quantic Dream sued two French media outlets for defamation for reporting these stories initially. The first hearing on this was in June 2018, but no further information appears to be available yet, at least publicly and translated.
