EA Removes On the House Giveaways from Origin

EA Removes On the House Giveaways from Origin

One of the best reasons to stick around with EA’s Origin service for PC gaming was On the House, a section of the platform that would offer free games to Origin users one at a time. Games like Mass Effect 2 , Dragon Age: Origins , Dead Space , Plants vs Zombies , and more well-regarded EA releases were given away through this initiative. Now, it seems to have quietly been removed in favor of pushing the EA Access service.

This news comes from Reddit, as a user noticed the usual link to EA’s On the House page now redirects to Origin Access. Access, of course, is a service that not only entitles players to a list of EA games, but also allows early access to new games, certain discounts, and other bonuses. This is a paid service, costing $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year.

It’s worth noting that, while Origin Access has been around for a while, a new Premier version is launching soon that bumps the price up to $14.99 a month and $99 a year,. This does include full access to new games, including of course the likes of Madden 19 , FIFA 19 , Battlefield V , and Anthem .
