News had been going around saying that Grand Operations, one of the big features planned for Battlefield V, wasn’t going to be ready in time for the game’s launch. The news came from the official Battlefield V website, funnily enough. A news post that was deployed on June 9, 2018 said that Grand Operations would be in the game “shortly after launch.” This picked up traction, and EA has issued correctional statements promising that Grand Operations will be available out of the box.
EA’s statement simply suggests that the information in the June 9 post was outdated and based on how development was going at the time. In the time between that article being posted and people really noticing that line about launch plans, things changed, and Grand Operations will be ready and launch with the game as part of Battlefield V’s Tides of War content.
As such, EA has updated the text in that story, which now says, “You can deploy in Grand Operations at launch and as part of Tides of War, the Battlefield V live service, where you’ll fight across other unseen and unplayed battlefields of World War 2.”
Battlefield V will arrive on October 19, 2018 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
