PUBG Drops to Under One Million Players

PUBG Drops to Under One Million Players

As reported by Eurogamer via SteamDB, the number of daily players for the PC version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds did not reach the one million mark for the first time in a whole year. PUBG has long been the king of Steam numbers, having reached an overall peak of 3.2 million players earlier in 2018 and consistently having over one million every day since. For some perspective, the only other game to ever reach one million players on Steam was Dota 2 . Even on the day it fell under one million, PUBG still had 960,000, barely off that mark.

There could be any number of reasons PUBG ’s numbers have evened out lately. Fortnite continues to be huge competition, with more frequent updates and less technical issues overall. It’s also worth noting that the same day PUBG dropped under one million, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout beta launched. That very well could have caused the dip by itself.
