Skybound, the rights holder to The Walking Dead in general, announced earlier this year that it would be attempting to continue the development of The Walking Dead; The Final Season . Now, Skybound has confirmed that plans are moving forward to bringing the story to its conclusion.
There was a lingering question about who would be working on it, considering the sudden closure of Telltale Games, and Skybound stated in a Reddit AMA that it was working out those logistics. Obviously the whole team wouldn’t be able to come back for various reasons, but Skybound confirmed that “many” of the original team have come back to finish the story.
Skybound will be announcing release dates for the remaining two episodes soon and will be providing them for free to those who have already purchased the season. Skybound also noted that while the ownership transitions, the previous two episodes may not be available to purchase for “a few days.”
