EA and BioWare have finally released details on demo plans for the upcoming RPG/multiplayer shooter hybrid, Anthem. Things will start off earlier for paying customers, with a VIP demo, but then everyone will be able to hop in when the floodgates are opened for free. VIP players will also get a little something extra.
What that something extra actually is remains a mystery for now, but it has been confirmed that some sort of exclusive in-game item for the full release will be sent to VIP demo players. The Anthem VIP demo, which will be for those who preordered the game alongside EA Access and Origin Access members, will run from Friday, January 25 to Sunday, January 27, 2019.
The free demo will arrive a week later. Anthem’s free demo will go live on Friday, February first for the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC. It will run until Sunday, February 3, 2019. Aside from the bonus item, both demos will have identical content.
Players will have access to two Javelins, the Ranger and one that hasn’t been confirmed yet. The Fort Tarsis hub will be available, and a few different mission types including story and stronghold will be playable. Players will start at level ten, and can go up to 15. Progress will not be saved for the full game.
