The PlayStation Classic Price Is Drastically Dropping

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. The PlayStation Classic, a plug-and-play system from Sony, has suffered another indignity. The price on the system has been steadily dropping since launch, and it has hit a new low. You can now find it for only $39.99 at both Best Buy and Walmart .

The PlayStation Classic, with its 20 games, launched at $99.99 in December 2018. However, it didn’t last at that price. Some Target stores started dropping the price to $79.99 after launch, and in February 2019 it wasn’t uncommon to see the system selling for $59.99 at various stores. However, the new price seems like it could be common across all retailers. Even the Amazon Warehouse’s used copy is going for $40.

For people who wanted a PlayStation Classic as an oddity or novelty, now might be a good time to pounce on the deal. Especially since the system can be tweaked to run PSP games .

As a reminder, the NES Classic Edition and Super NES Classic Edition are both holding their value. The former is still $59.99 at most retailers, while the latter costs around $79.99 still.
