One of the best parts about the E3 season is when games that were supposed to be revealed at the event, and perhaps even have product pages go live after presentations, suddenly show up ahead of time. It happens every year, and 2019 is no exception. This time, one of the biggest ones is a confirmation of a title we already knew was on the way, a new Watch Dogs. Thanks to Amazon UK, we now know it is apparently called Watch Dogs Legion.
The idea in Watch Dogs Legion is that someone would supposedly be able to play as any NPC. When you’re playing, you will be able to recruit people to your cause. After you do, that person can become the main character. Kotaku’s Jason Schreier confirmed that everything he had heard about the game matched what the Amazon UK leak suggested. He also noted that “this system is so ambitious that it’s been causing developers a lot of headaches (and may have led to at least one delay).”
The official product description for Watch Dogs Legion did appear on Amazon UK’s page while it was online. It said, “Play as anyone, Every individual you meet in the open world, has a full set of animations, voice over, character traits and visuals that are generated & guided by gameplay systems.”
It looks like we’ll get to see what a hacker’s life might be like in a version of London in the near future soon. At the very least, it seems likely there will be at least a Watch Dogs Legion announcement within the next week.
