Catch the Uncharted Movie in 2020

Catch the Uncharted Movie in 2020

After multiple ups and downs, the Uncharted movie is finally moving forward. Lots of developments have been made, which has led to something rather exciting. We know when we might get to see it! The Uncharted movie release date is now December 18, 2020. This is certainly cause for celebration!

This is far from the only confirmation. We know that Tom Holland, who played Spider-Man in the latest Avengers and Spider-Man movies, will be playing Nathan Drake. (Presumably, this will be some sort of origin story, given his age.) We also learned that Dan Trachtenberg, who directed 10 Cloverfield Lane , will be the director. Originally, it was Shawn Levy. We still don’t know who will be filling Sully’s shoes.

Considering the Uncharted movie’s history, this is quite reassuring. It was first confirmed back in 2008 by Avi Arad, the producer. Then, it went through a whole lot of staff changes and shakeups. It wasn’t until 2016 that an actual script, by The Grey writer Joe Carnahan, was underway. (Rafe Judkins, the Agents of Shield writer, came on to rework it in 2018.) Now, all that’s left is to see it actually get made.

Now, we’ll just have to see if the Uncharted movie can meet that release date. Sony has not said anything about it being in production and there has been no news from any set. Also, films tend to need quite a bit of time in post-production. We’ll likely know in early 2020 if that launch date still seems realistic.
