When Gears 5, the next Gears of War game, arrives on September 10, 2019, it’ll have a lot of themed systems and accessories to go with it. Microsoft has revealed all of the first-party and third-party items launching alongside of it, with the highlight being a Gears 5 Xbox One X.
The Gears 5 Xbox One X is only the second limited edition version of the console ever. The first was Project Scorpio. This one will have a translucent casing which lets you see a Omen peeking through the ice, with the Gears of War logo represented. This $499 console will come with the system, a Kait Diaz-themed controller, Gears 5 Ultimate Edition, Ice Kait and Ice Jack character skins and digital copies of Gears of War 2 through 4. (You also get the standard one-month trials for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass.)
People who already own a system could just get that new Kait controller. The $74.99 wireless controller is designed to call to mind her armor in Gears 5. It has a textured grip and rubberized diamond grip. It will also be available ahead of the game’s launch, with people able to pick it up on August 20, 2019. Just so people don’t miss out, it also comes with the Gears 5 Ice Kait skin, though you can’t redeem and use that until the game comes out.
Then, there are the third-party accessories for Gears 5. One is a matching Xbox Pro Charging Stand for the Kait Diaz Limited Edition Controller. It has the same design and color scheme, the Gears of War logo and metal contacts to keep it in place. It’ll be $49.99 when it comes out on August 27, 2019. A Razer Gears 5 headset will be out in September 2019 and come with a Lancer skin and in-game item. Razer will also have a themed keyboard and mouse set in September for $299.99. Finally Seagate will have 2TB and 5TB external game drives with designs that match the limited edition Xbox One X, though only GameStop will sell the larger model. It will have a Lancer skin, Supply Drops, and a one-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.
Gears 5 will be out on September 6, 2019 if people use Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or on September 10, 2019 for general audiences.
