Google Stadia Release Date Revealed

Google Stadia Release Date Revealed

We’ve known for a while that the Google Stadia PC platform would be appearing in November 2019. Now, we have an exact release date. People will be able to begin using it on November 19, 2019. However, this will only be the paid version of the service and cost $9.99 per month. It will also be in North America, the UK, and parts of Europe to start.

Eventually, there will be two versions of Google Stadia. The Pro option will be $9.99 per month and allow people access to a subscribers library and paid games. Its resolution will go up to 4K and frame rates will hit 60 FPS. The free version will allow people to buy games bit by bit and accrue a library. It will launch in 2020 and only allow up to a 1080p resolution.

When Google Stadia launches, people could go with a Founder Edition. This is the $129 option that gives people a Chromecast Ultra, so they can stream Stadia games on a TV, a Stadia name, a Buddy Pass for a friend, a three-month Stadia Pro subscription, and a Night Blue controller.

As a reminder, Google Stadia does rely on streaming. This means it will really go through people’s data when they play. The current expectation is that one hour of gaming in 4K will take over 15GB of data. As a reminder, a service like Comcast has a 1TB data cap, then charges $10 per each extra 50GB of data. Keep that in mind when you consider using the service!
