Stadia Library Expands With 3 Major Games
Borderlands 3

When it comes to new technology, every little library update can be a big affair. Especially when it involves Google Stadia, a streaming service that can play in Chrome browsers and across a variety of devices. The launch lineup involved 22 games, and now three more major titles from 2K, Bandai Namco, and Ubisoft have stepped onto the scene. Borderlands 3, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint have arrived.

While Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is only available in one $49.99 version, both Borderlands 3 and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint have multiple editions with launch discounts available. (The goal with these is to provide people with the option to get the base game and extras.) With Borderlands 3, you can temporarily get the standard edition for $38.99, the deluxe edition for $51.99, and the super deluxe edition for $77.99. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is in a similar position, but with lower prices. The base version is $30, the gold edition is $50, and the ultimate edition tops out at $60.

There is one downside to this new assortment of Stadia games. Borderlands 3 isn’t the most recent build. With Stadia, people don’t have to deal with patches and updates, since everything is streaming and in the cloud. The one people who buy this version will get has received updates up until the October 2019 release. Gearbox Software says its goal is to have all versions on the same level as one another by early 2020.

As with all Stadia games, buying them gives you access to them on computers with Chrome browsers, Google Pixel phones, and Chromecast Ultras, though the number of available devices will grow. Stadia Pro offers the 4K and 60 FPS option, though whether those plateaus will be hit go by a case-by-case basis.
