The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Will Come to Next Gen Systems

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Will Come to Next Gen Systems

The upcoming The Lord of the Rings: Gollum game finally has its platforms. In addition to appearing on PCs, Daedalic will be bringing the Gollum adventure game to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. It will show up on all three platforms in 2021.

In The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, people find out what the character was doing for years when he wasn’t appearing in the actual novels. It will start off sometime after he has found The One Ring. Then, people will play through until the beginning of The Lord of the Rings, when he ends up encountering Frodo and the others. It will only be based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s books.

Perhaps that also accounts for Gollum’s potential new look. This version of the character is not going to look like the Andy Serkis one that appeared in the popular The Lord of the Rings movies. He will have his own new look, which will also be based on the Tolkien literary depictions of the character. He’ll also apparently have different emotions and reactions from the movies and display the dual Smeagol and Gollum personalities as a gameplay mechanic.

A few of the other gameplay details came up for this adventure game. While it is going to be very story-focused, you’ll need to be a skilled player too. Gollum will employ stealth to get around some issues, needing to avoid violence to get around the large areas of the game. Also, Nazgul will appear in the game as enemies.
