Monster Hunter Film Teasers Revealed by Capcom

Monster Hunter Film Teasers Revealed by Capcom

It’s PAX East 2020 time. Despite the coronavirus ’ efforts to ruin conventions this year, some news is still escaping the show. If you’re at the event, you can drop by Capcom’s Monster Hunter booth and get yourself copies of the new movie’s teaser posters. If you aren’t there, IGN secured exclusive rights to reveal the posters to the general public. Featuring lead actors Millia Jovovich and Tony Jaa, these posters give us a nice, clean look at the movie’s logo and some super game-accurate weaponry.

On the first poster, Jovovich is wielding a Giant Jawblade Great Sword, one of the more popular weapon designs seen in lots of marketing materials for the series. On the other poster, Jaa is wielding the Great Hunter’s Bow. Jaa’s character in the film is also known as The Hunter, so I guess that’s appropriate! The movie’s whole premise is a group of soldiers somehow get sucked into the Monster Hunter world, where they have to work with Jaa’s character to find a way home.

According to IGN, many of the monster, equipment, and environment designs are based on the series’ latest incarnation, Monster Hunter: World . That makes sense, as not only is it the most recent game, it’s also the most successful. Monster Hunter: World hit mainstream success unlike anything Capcom has released before. That isn’t hyperbole either; since launching in January 2018 Monster: Hunter World went on to become Capcom’s best-selling game in the entire history of the company.

Monster Hunter , directed by Resident Evil alum Paul W.S. Anderson, is set to hit theaters on September 4, 2020.
