Phil Harrison, Executive Vice President of Development at Sony told an audience that the PSP will be moving to pay-per-download content next year. The type of content that will be available for download is unclear, but Harrison compared it to the Wipeout Pure content which included new vehicles, levels, and menu skins.
Sony is also in the process of setting up a digital rights management system for PSP content. This would allow gamers to pay for content once and download it multiple times.
“It is an experiment which has turned out to be a good experiment,” Harrison told UK-based Edge magazine.
