The latest numbers from the NPD group show Sony as the biggest winner in sales during May of 2005.
The PlayStation 2 is almost doubling sales of the Xbox with 274,000 hardware units sold versus 131,000 units of the Xbox being sold. 29 million of these PS2 units are being sold in the US as opposed to 12.8 million units of the Xbox. Game Cube comes in third with 51,000 units sold worldwide, over 9.6 million in the US.
Sony dominates the portable world as well with 250,000 PSP units sold worldwide. The Game Boy Advance comes in a close second with 223,000 units sold. Falling behind is the Nintendo DS with 56,600 units sold.
