The new online video game network, GameTap, has been officially launched. The subscription-only service will allow subscribers unlimited game downloads and original programming. Publishers will be able to sell everything from classic arcade titles to games for consoles and PCs. Currently, the network has around 300 games from 24 publishers. They desire to expand to over 1,000 games.
"GameTap creates a new window and revenue stream for developers and publishers beyond the traditional first retail release," commented Stuart Snyder, GameTap’s General Manager. "Our goal is to create the ultimate gaming network–a one stop shop–for everyone from the casual gamer to gaming experts."
