Iran Backlashes Against New Video Game Mission

Iran Backlashes Against New Video Game Mission

None

Iran has backlashed against a new mission in KumaWar that has players invading the country. KumaWar is a shooter that derives its missions from news headlines in Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan.

The mission calls for players to “inflitrate Iran’s nuclear facility at Natanz, high in the mountains. But breaching the security cordon around the hardened target won’t be easy. Your team’s mission: infiltrate the base, secure evidence of illegal uranium enrichment, rescue your man on the inside, and destroy the centrifuges that promise to take Iran into the nuclear age.”

“Americans have a deep craving for an attack agains Iran, but they are going to have to settle for this make-believe assault,” the government controlled newspaper, the Kayhan Daily, reported.

“We must make the Americans understand that Iran is different from Iraq and Afghanistan, where they just did what they wanted,” a petition at persianpetition.com reads. The petition has received over 5,000 signatures in just two weeks.

Despite the controversy, Kuma has no intention of removing the mission. “The controversy does surprise me. I just didn’t expect that there were people from Iran who were going to become aware of it,” commented Kuma CEO Keith Halper to Reuters.
