Another Video Game Law Proposed

Another Video Game Law Proposed

None

Get familiar with these stories, gamers, because it doesn’t seem like our legislation woes are going to end anytime soon.

Florida state senator Alex Diaz de la Portilla (R-District 36) has proposed a bill that restricts the sale or rental of violent video games to minors (sounding familiar yet?). The bill is similar to the law recently passed in California. The definition of a violent video game is the same and so are the fines for breaking the law. The difference?  The Florida bill makes it illegal to make violent games available to minors in arcades and stores.

We will keep you posted at Cheat Code Central as this bill makes its way into law only to be overturned by the angry video game companies who will in turn be berated by Jack Thompson.
