Rockstar Receives More Heat for Bully

None

Rockstar is still feeling the heat from Hot Coffee, but that hasn’t stopped them from keeping the controversy at boiling point. The company’s new game Bully is stirring up trouble among parents and legislators who worry about the impact of violent games on children.

The game allows players to beat up on smaller kids in a prep school.

Keith Vaz, British MP, is concerned about the effects this could have on children. “Do you share my concern at the decision of Rockstar to publish a new game called Bully in which players use their on-screen persona to kick and punch other schoolchildren?” Vaz asked the House of Commons.

Vaz believes that the game should be treated like a violent film and should be reviewed by the British Board of Film Classification or banned completely.

“We support and admire the groups who are working hard to address the long-standing problem of bullying,” a Rockstar representative commented to the BBC. “Just as books aren’t judged by their covers, video games shouldn’t be judged by their titles or individual scenes.”

We assume this debate will become more heated as we come closer to Bully’s April release date. Keep checking back to Cheat Code Central for updates.
