EA Claims Simpsons Franchise

None

Electronic Arts has announced that they have received the rights to create future The Simpsons video games.

A long-term deal has been struck with Twentieth Century Fox and Gracie Films. Vivendi Universal was previously publishing the games.

“This is something EA’s been interested in for years,” Nick Earl, stated General Manager of the EA Redwood Shores studio, the studio that will develop the games, “and now game development and technology is at a place where The Simpsons characters and world will really come alive in these games.”

“Electronic Arts is exactly the right creative partner to bring Springfield to life in this medium,” Gary Newman, Twentieth Century Fox President, commented.

A next-generation Simpsons title is already in the works, but no platform or launch date has been announced. We will keep you posted.
